When is Easter?

The dates for Easter change every year as it is dependent on the moon! It’s celebrated on the first Sunday following the full moon that happens on or just after the spring equinox.

What you’ll need:

  • 15x15cm squared paper
  • Paints/marker pens/pencils to decorate

Step 1 - Fold paper in half diagonally.

Step 2 - Fold in half again to create a crease (and then unfold once).

Step 3 - From the bottom side of the triangle fold about a finger’s width up (think about how wide you’d like the ears to be).

Step 4 - Now on one side, fold from the bottom up to the centre line (i.e. the crease you created). Repeat on the other side.

Step 5 - Now turn the paper over. This is the face/front-facing side of the rabbit.

Step 6 - Fold the top point of the rabbit’s face back.

Step 7 - Fold the bottom point of the rabbit’s face back.

Step 8 - Now it’s time to grab your paints or markers, and draw on your rabbit’s face!

Make as many rabbits as you want; your kid will definitely love creating them in different colours and patterns. If you’re feeling “extra” you can also add on some googly eyes or glitter to really make your rabbit stand out! Another nice idea for Easter is that you can glue the origami rabbit to the front of a DIY card to add a little something to the design by making it more 3D. The recipient will surely appreciate all your effort and personal touches. And on that note we wish you a very happy Easter!
